anniversary weekend

Like last year and in honor of how we met, Matt and I celebrated our anniversary with a backpacking trip. We hiked in at dusk on an old wagon road and camped to the right of Raven Cliff Falls (see photo above). Matt had packed in steamed jasmine rice, and we mixed our Indian curry camp meal into it. For dessert, he had also baked almond cookies. The full moon shone brightly that night. After a month of school, I slept so well on the ground, under the tarp, in the woods, with my wonderful husband. Happy anniversary!

Hey Lily, this is Jimmy Larson! Sorry, I've tried to hunt down your email directly (or any other way to contact you) but this comment seems to be the only way. I'm not sure if you still get updates on these blog comments, but I hope you do. Sorry I've been a horrible friend and haven't kept in touch, but I'm so glad to see you doing well and happy and I'd love to catch up sometime. If you do get this, give me a call or email (if you still have any of my contact info) or let me know how I can contact you directly. I hope you're doing well. Take care.

Ecology studies the interrelationship between organisms and their environment. It originates from the German word okologie, first used in 1873.

This blog documents one organism's interactions with her environment.
What would be the hope of being personally whole in a dismembered society, or personally healthy in a landscape scalped, scraped, eroded, and poisoned, or personally free in a land entirely controlled by the government [or corporations], or personally enlightened in an age illuminated only by TV? - Wendell Berry
