back and forth between FL and NC

Day 121-123: Sanded ridge beam, cut and nailed up ceiling and upper wall panels.

Day 120: Scraped, cut, and swept up excess spray foam,

took photos of studs before closing up walls,

nailed two bathroom wall panels,

measured out kitchen counter and bench seat.

Day 119: Matt and I got going early to cover everything with plastic.

The spray foam guy, Scott, arrived early with a truck bigger than our tiny house. An hour and half later, I returned: Voila, he was done, and our house was insulated. I laugh now because nothing else with our tiny house build has happened within a day.

Days 115 to 118: Cut hole in exterior siding for and installed bathroom vent duct,

cut and installed new bathroom ceiling,

sprayed carpenter bees,

started building the pantry,

added nailers for a/c unit brackets,
met with Brian from Freeman Gas, picked out paint colors.

Days 110 to 114: Spliced in water supply to toilet

nailed nail stops on most of the walls,

added nailers to walls and ceilings,
started cutting a hole for the bathroom vent duct, Home Depot runs, cleaned up, called gas people, wrote to do list for upcoming month.

Days 102 to 109: Matt built my desk/shelf/wall unit,

cemented together and tested the water supply lines,
met with various people to get quotes, figured out where to route the bathroom exhaust duct, tested the polyurethane on our cork flooring.

Aaron and Otis worked on wiring the tiny house, but they didn't know as much about electrical as they led us to believe and really did a messy and disappointing job. Matt paid Tim to fix the electrical rough in. It was a stressful, but valuable learning experience.

Ecology studies the interrelationship between organisms and their environment. It originates from the German word okologie, first used in 1873.

This blog documents one organism's interactions with her environment.
What would be the hope of being personally whole in a dismembered society, or personally healthy in a landscape scalped, scraped, eroded, and poisoned, or personally free in a land entirely controlled by the government [or corporations], or personally enlightened in an age illuminated only by TV? - Wendell Berry
