two weeks in Taiwan

Aunt, Matt, and I just drove out of the clouds, down from the mountains. Aunt has a house at the Shuisheliao station of the Alishan Railway, where we stayed for three days. Every morning we would wake up to the best view of the sea of clouds at her front door. There is an outdoor kitchen, a garden, and open rooftop. The area also has a network of trails - dirt and steps - with good signage in both Chinese and English. Matt joked that he figured out where ALTAR 2012 will be held.

We miss Uwharrie!

Ecology studies the interrelationship between organisms and their environment. It originates from the German word okologie, first used in 1873.

This blog documents one organism's interactions with her environment.
What would be the hope of being personally whole in a dismembered society, or personally healthy in a landscape scalped, scraped, eroded, and poisoned, or personally free in a land entirely controlled by the government [or corporations], or personally enlightened in an age illuminated only by TV? - Wendell Berry
