go high to escape the heat

In the last half of May, we've visited both Mt. Mitchell and Clingman's Dome -- the highest of Appalachian mountains.









Matt's off on his fastpack of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail, while I've been connecting with the people I know in Marion. As he heads east across NC, so will I, to visit friends and family and to explore the rest of our state on a parallel road trip.
