running weekends

Last weekend's 12K at Norris Dam was a long run for me and left me with stiff legs for two days. I helped do aid this weekend for the Sultan 50K in South Mountain, and as the crown-wearing runners came in, I couldn't help noting that even those that ran half the distance ran twice as much as I did. Dang! I still had fun doing my distance, though. ;-)

Ecology studies the interrelationship between organisms and their environment. It originates from the German word okologie, first used in 1873.

This blog documents one organism's interactions with her environment.
What would be the hope of being personally whole in a dismembered society, or personally healthy in a landscape scalped, scraped, eroded, and poisoned, or personally free in a land entirely controlled by the government [or corporations], or personally enlightened in an age illuminated only by TV? - Wendell Berry
