early afternoon run

Had a fabulous run this afternoon. I wore shorts, banking on the sun to keep me warm, and it did. It was just the perfect temperature so I could concentrate on my run and not cold air scratching my nasal passages or chapped hands (and in the summer, air too laden with moisture for breathing). My legs loved it, set free once again. I ran twice as far as usual, and would even sometimes laugh aloud at - goodness knows - because I felt good. Some sort of internal thawing.

Ecology studies the interrelationship between organisms and their environment. It originates from the German word okologie, first used in 1873.

This blog documents one organism's interactions with her environment.
What would be the hope of being personally whole in a dismembered society, or personally healthy in a landscape scalped, scraped, eroded, and poisoned, or personally free in a land entirely controlled by the government [or corporations], or personally enlightened in an age illuminated only by TV? - Wendell Berry
