meet Rafi

photos from my wedding weekend, 2010

2013 was the year my girlfriends started having children. To me - far away and with time flying as it does - it seemed all at once. They are amazing women: Jessica had a baby while teaching and going to grad school, Christen adopted three siblings, Liz tried a home birth, and Norin had twins. Their husbands are equally amazing.

Finding time to visit gets harder, but I was able to spend an extended weekend in DC with Liz, Reevi, and Rafi. Rafi is bright-eyed and as good-natured as his parents. I liked watching and partaking in his daily routines -- all new to me!

As a bonus, I got to see Robin and Mr. Ed, and Jess as well. I had a wonderful time.

Ecology studies the interrelationship between organisms and their environment. It originates from the German word okologie, first used in 1873.

This blog documents one organism's interactions with her environment.
What would be the hope of being personally whole in a dismembered society, or personally healthy in a landscape scalped, scraped, eroded, and poisoned, or personally free in a land entirely controlled by the government [or corporations], or personally enlightened in an age illuminated only by TV? - Wendell Berry
