fish photos

I helped with electrofishing yesterday in the Tahoe Keys. The prettiest fish I netted was a brown trout.

I also netted a carp on our training run. As we were coming back from the day's work, people kept asking us about goldfish. Apparently a Sacramento news story about goldfish in Lake Tahoe had gone viral earlier this year.

Ecology studies the interrelationship between organisms and their environment. It originates from the German word okologie, first used in 1873.

This blog documents one organism's interactions with her environment.
What would be the hope of being personally whole in a dismembered society, or personally healthy in a landscape scalped, scraped, eroded, and poisoned, or personally free in a land entirely controlled by the government [or corporations], or personally enlightened in an age illuminated only by TV? - Wendell Berry
