Mt. Shasta photos

Here is a view of Mt. Shasta from the Pacific Crest Trail near Gumboot Lake. After a long detour, Alecia and I missed our turn to Cliff Lake one work day and ended up almost on the ridge. That weekend, we decided to go back.

The sun sets and a thunderstorm rolls in over Mt. Shasta. The Castle Crew drove down the road to an overlook to watch the clouds swirl and change colors. Lightning periodically lights them up, and then the big raindrops start falling. Joel is standing in the rain laughing.

Brooke and I take an after-dinner hike to Heart Lake, and this time, I have my camera.  Heart Lake is in the foreground, Castle Lake is in the middle of the photo, and Mt. Shasta is off in the distance. I realize we can see our dock from up there.

Lily. Awesome. Miss you guys.

Ecology studies the interrelationship between organisms and their environment. It originates from the German word okologie, first used in 1873.

This blog documents one organism's interactions with her environment.
What would be the hope of being personally whole in a dismembered society, or personally healthy in a landscape scalped, scraped, eroded, and poisoned, or personally free in a land entirely controlled by the government [or corporations], or personally enlightened in an age illuminated only by TV? - Wendell Berry
