last weekend

If the moon seems very full this weekend, that’s because it IS bigger than normal. It’s light will drown out all but twenty meteors per hour of the Geminid shower.

It’s been rising well before dark, too. I’ve spent the last few days soaking in whatever little daylight and sunshine I can get to outside of school. Thursday evening, I watched pink-lined clouds from a bench outside Fabrics & Foam. This afternoon, I blogged from the back steps of Matt’s trailer. And when it got too cool, I moved into the armchair next to the west-facing window of my own apartment. Best of all, Matt, Uwharrie, and I did the full moon justice by night-hiking up to the Green Knob tower and spending last night there. THIS was our sunrise.

Ecology studies the interrelationship between organisms and their environment. It originates from the German word okologie, first used in 1873.

This blog documents one organism's interactions with her environment.
What would be the hope of being personally whole in a dismembered society, or personally healthy in a landscape scalped, scraped, eroded, and poisoned, or personally free in a land entirely controlled by the government [or corporations], or personally enlightened in an age illuminated only by TV? - Wendell Berry
