forestry thoughts

In contacting my former professors at UF, I found out that I had made several appearances on their promotional video. This was the study abroad program in the Czech Republic that I participated in in 2003, and I'm glad to see that it's continued. Look for me in the long hair. Usually, I'm staring up at trees, but there's a scene towards the end that made me laugh and gives you an idea of what kind of student I was. I did not realize it was captured on video!

Ecology studies the interrelationship between organisms and their environment. It originates from the German word okologie, first used in 1873.

This blog documents one organism's interactions with her environment.
What would be the hope of being personally whole in a dismembered society, or personally healthy in a landscape scalped, scraped, eroded, and poisoned, or personally free in a land entirely controlled by the government [or corporations], or personally enlightened in an age illuminated only by TV? - Wendell Berry
