a minute to myself

Everything but the keyboard on this computer is in Chinese, so I'm going by memory to figure out what buttons to click. Even Blogger is in Chinese. So I've managed to post a few pictures, and just when I've settled down to actually write something, my aunt has come to take Grant and I out for lunch. :-P Well, quickly, it's been exciting to see how my cousins have grown, how my aunts and uncles have stayed young, how Taiwan has progressed. I'm also really enjoying the time with Grant. I've got two more weeks: one in my dad's hometown and one in my mom's. And for those of you who are snowbound, I'm wearing shorts and flip-flops today. ;-)

Ecology studies the interrelationship between organisms and their environment. It originates from the German word okologie, first used in 1873.

This blog documents one organism's interactions with her environment.
What would be the hope of being personally whole in a dismembered society, or personally healthy in a landscape scalped, scraped, eroded, and poisoned, or personally free in a land entirely controlled by the government [or corporations], or personally enlightened in an age illuminated only by TV? - Wendell Berry
